Mars Retrograde Experiences

Mars went retrograde on January 23. Since Mars "rules" men and mechanical things, how has it gone with you so far? It has been interesting here at my house. A kitchen faucet needed to be replaced. The plumber came to do what should have been a quick, easy job. After the new faucet was installed, hot water would not come out. The plumber double-checked everything and finally discovered that one of the hoses in the new faucet assembly had a hole in it and there was an additional block so hot water did not come out. He was good enough to return the faucet to get a replacement and all went smoothly after that. But... he spend double the time he should have and became very frustrated, although was gracious through the entire ordeal. This is typical: a mechanical assembly malfunctioned.

Send your stories of what happens with you that you think is related to Mars being retrograde, through April 13, and they will be published here. Send your stories to Patty by clicking here.

Powerful X2-class Solar Flare Today, Jan. 27th,

This is the third huge solar flare to radiate earth in a few days. How are you? If you are lethargic, grouchy or sleepy, it could be that the solar radiation is bombarding you so much your body has to slow down to assimilate and distribute the energy. Be patient with yourself. Your pets could be either lethargic or restless, too. My pet cat, Zena, has slept for three days instead of romping like she usually does. The story and links from NASA follow.

X-FLARE:  Earth-orbiting satellites detected a powerful X2-class solar flare today, Jan. 27th, at 1837 UT (1:37 pm EST). The source was departing sunspot 1402.  The blast produced a spectacular CME (not Earth directed) and accelerated energetic protons toward Earth.  A low-level radiation storm is now in progress around our planet. Visit http://spaceweather.com for images and updates.

Hold on to your computer, wireless instruments, GPS and telephones.

Yesterday, January 22, there was a huge solar flare. For details and beautiful photos, click here: http://www.spacewater.com. The radiation storm is still in progress and could cause isolated reboots of computers onboard Earth-orbiting satellites and interfere with polar radio communications.

From www.foxnews.com  An immense blast of plasma spewed late Sunday night from the Sun led to the strongest radiation storm bombarding our planet since 2005, and a rare warning from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency -- and even a plan to redirect certain high-flying airplanes. NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center -- the nation’s official source of warnings about space weather and its impact on Earth -- issued a watch for a geomagnetic storm expected to hit our planet Tuesday morning after a satellite witnessed an ultraviolet flash from the massive solar eruption, according to Spaceweather.com. Today, January 23 at 1954 Eastern Time Mars goes retrograde while being bombarded by the CME.

WOW!

Astrologically, what does this all mean? The new Moon in Aquarius was this morning at 09:39 Eastern Time. This means the solar bombardment is electrically charging the already electric sign of Aquarius. Your Aquarian friends may be especially excited and erratic for the next few days, through Wednesday or Thursday. Leo could experience unexpected strong opposition or be totally ignored these few days. Taurus and Scorpio could be involved in financial control issues; try not to settle anything, because after the energy from the flare leaves, things will settle down. Gemini and Libra can most easily handle the energy, but may have unexpected happenings with social activities. Aries and Sagittarius can be charged from the frenetic activity from their friends. Cancer and Virgo have to adjust to the unexpected; try to flow with it. I would say that Capricorn and Pisces are neutral, but this is relative. The energy from the solar flares is a lot, so all life on earth is excited, each in our own way. If your pets are unusually restless or lethargic, blame it on the solar flare.
Let’s watch the earthquake activity to see of there is any extra activity stimulated from the combination of the new Moon and solar flare. Since Mars in involved, too, there could be a surge in fires or volcanic eruptions.

AND... MARS WENT RETROGRADE, TOO, today at 19:54 Eastern Time in the sign of Virgo.  As if Virgo does not have enough adjusting to do because of the solar flare, their projects slow down and they may even slow down. Read Mars retrograde here. The solar flare is flying by Mars, too, electrically exciting men, machines, cars, trains, and anything mechanical. The next few days will be interesting indeed. If you are a Virgo, be alert for mechanical breakdowns. Even though a slow Mars means the slow-down of projects, Taurus and Capricorn can benefit from careful planning and patience. Cancer and Scorpio have the opportunity to work on new projects that require patience and a slow build-up through April 13 when Mars goes Direct. Pisces may be irritated because attention to detail is required to fix mechanical things. Gemini and Sagittarius could also be irritated because of the slow-down of activity, with the requirement for detail. Leo and Libra are somewhat neutral. Aries and Aquarius need to adjust to the slowdown and possible breakdown of mechanical things. Remember that Aquarius is already stimulated by the solar flare and may be far too eager to create upheaval. They need a calming friend.

Some astrologese: if you know your chart, look to any planets in the sign of Aquarius to learn how your life will be energized. Look to the house with Aquarius on the cusp to learn the area of your life will be energized. Look to the houses with Aries on the cusp and that area of your life should slow down because of the retrograde Mars. If you really know your chart, you can figure the aspects to Mars at 23 degrees of Virgo to learn even more. JANUARY 2012 FORECAST

The quarter moons and the full Moon are in the cardinal signs of Libra, Capricorn and Aries this month, meaning those signs, plus Cancer have the most activity and could be continually challenged. However, people of these signs love the challenge.

Mercury goes into the sign of Capricorn, Venus goes into the sign of Pisces, the Sun and Mercury go into the sign of Aquarius this month.

Jan 1: The New Year begins with a quarter Moon in the signs of Aries and Capricorn, revealing a day with a lot of activity and possible many wanting to be in charge. Mercury is disagreeing with Mars, too, so right after midnight there could be spirited conversations. Perhaps you are talking with people from far away who either all or drop in unexpectedly.

Jan 2: The Moon goes into Taurus at 17:15 and the day is much calmer. You may want to review 2011's finances to see where you have to spend less in 2012.

Jan 3: Harmonious, quiet day with an emphasis on being practical. Taurus and Capricorn are especially favored, followed by Virgo. Scorpio could have a mild encounter, Cancer and Pisces have the opportunity to deal with finances.

Jan 4: The calm from yesterday continues until early evening, when there is a an interruption to accommodate a younger person who is far-seeing and expansive. The energy is Taurean, which is good for Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, but upsets Aquarius and Scorpio.

Jan 5: The Moon goes into Gemini at 05:43, and there is a lot of communication. It seems like people wake up and talk about their holiday happenings. There is an opportunity for a quick tweaking of an idea early, then the idea is tweaked again at the end of the day. Gemini, Libra and Aquarius have an easy day. Aries and Leo have the opportunity to join spirited conversation and Sagittarius could be opposed. All this is mild.

Jan 6: The Sun and Moon are off balance, indicating a possibly weird day. The talkative one interrupts the working authority, who responds with grouchiness. However, dealing with younger friends is good when you keep friendliness in the proper place. Very late in the day leading into

Jan 7: If the party or friends push too hard and cause the quiet, detail-oriented person to have to adjust, it can be grouchy again. Mercury is getting along well with Saturn and Neptune. There are opportunities to make travel plans with a partner, and to accept an opportunity to plan a vacation with friends. The Moon goes into Cancer at 16:04.

Jan 8: Mercury goes into Capricorn at 01:33 through January 27. Conversation and communication turns to career, and the structure or plans of a situation. Capricorn is not too communicative, so expect communication to be quiet. This is the time for Capricorn to present your ideas and to be heard. Taurus and Virgo should have pleasant practical ideas and interactions. Cancer may experience opposition to your plans because they are not practical enough. Aries experiences challenging conversations because your ideas may seem too radical and Libra experiences challenging conversations because you may ask for cooperation, which is uncomfortable to the one in charge. Gemini and Leo have weird conversations, or no conversations, with the boss; do not push. Sagittarius and Aquarius are neutral. Scorpio and Pisces have the opportunity to discuss practical projects, especially money. Creativity is not favored unless you have a plan. Financial plans should be direct and to the point, and explain the underlying structure of your project. The practical boss could challenge the person who has a plan that is too premature.

Jan 9: Full Moon in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn, exact at 02:29. Cancer and Capricorn will experience stress between family and career. Aries and Libra have challenging situation or circumstance, but you like challenges. Aries, please do not provoke and instead offer a humorous creative solution. Libra can be the diplomat to sooth emotions. Cancer can take the opportunity to contact Virgo who can help both Cancer and Capricorn. Taurus can give a common sense solution. The areas of the body with this full Moon are the stomach and breasts, and the skin, bones and knees. There is some minor stress between emotions and the needs of the group needing an adjustment in attitude. The Moon goes into Leo at almost midnight.

Jan 10: The Moon is in Leo and Leo likes to shine and administrate. Early in the day there is n off-balance (minor) situation where extravagances are verbally resisted, followed by the one in charge saying "no" to a high expense. Leo, be careful today not to buy anything too expensive because you will be resisted.

Jan 11: Weird day full of interruptions and you need to accommodate those interruptions. This is especially with Leo and Capricorn. Be as flexible as possible and go along with the flow.

Jan 12: The Moon goes into Virgo at 04:43 and practical affairs go well. Virgo and Capricorn have a great day putting the plan into motion, and Taurus can be a help with the finances. The water signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces have the opportunity to help.

Jan 13: A good day for social activities; your loved one is both interested in being with friends, but as your partner. You may begin the day with work, and end with an evening with fun friends. Communication today is focused and intense from the powerful or effective person and the subject is planning and career or practical things. The Sun and Moon get along later in the day, helping practical activities go very smoothly.

Jan 14: Venus goes into Pisces through February 8. Venus likes the sign of Pisces, so your loved one changes from wanting to be with friends to wanting to be romantic with you. Pisces especially has nice romantic time. Virgo experiences opposition because the romance interferes with work or interrupts detail. Cancer and Scorpio have good relationships with your loved one and with younger people. Taurus and Capricorn have the opportunity to turn your attention to creative romantic interludes if you can turn your attention away from money and work. Aries is not supposed to get along with Pisces, but Aries is a romantic and can initiate romantic or escapist fun. Aquarius is neutral. Leo and Libra are supposed to be neutral, but Libra can create the beautiful surroundings for the romance and Leo can add some drama. Interestingly Pisces and Leo are both signs of drama, so if Leo is not irritated with some vagueness, you can bring drama to the situation. Libra and Pisces are supposed to not get along, either, but both their patron planets are Venus, so there is a good connection. There is an opportunity for a romantic adventure that is low-key and inexpensive.

Jan 15: Neutral day.

Jan 16: Quarter Moon in the signs of Libra and Capricorn. There is tension because the person wanting cooperation experiences the "other" wanting to hide. Aries and Cancer experience a challenging day, perhaps being asked to intervene. The Moon goes into the sign of Scorpio at 11:33. In the afternoon there could be resistance involving money which is resolved.

Jan 17: Good day to take advantage of the opportunity for financial planning. Your investment advisor could have long-term, practical, conservative investment advice. The day is especially good for Scorpio and Capricorn who get along. Cancer and Pisces can do long-range planning and Taurus and Virgo communicate financial details well.

Jan 18:  Everybody gets along today and there is an opportunity for more financial planning. It is a good day to be inclusive Right about lunch-time someone may not show up. The Moon goes into Sagittarius at 14:28 and attention turns to travel. There is good change followed by an adjustment about money. Scorpio and Capricorn still have a good relationship, Scorpio and Aquarius may have a missed appointment, Sagittarius and Aries have a smooth project, but Sagittarius and Taurus are a little at odds over money.

Jan 19: Potentially difficult day if you are expecting too much or are lazy. The one in authority challenges the structure or plan that must be balanced to work. Sagittarius and Pisces can be irritated with each other, and Capricorn is pushing Libra too hard and may be surprised at Libra’s firmness or outburst.

Jan 20: The Sun goes into Aquarius through February 19. Attention changes to group effort, goals and friends. Your Aquarian friends shine now and it is the time for Aquarius to present and pursue your goals. Leo may experience what you consider disobedience, and attention away from you and to friends. There could be control issues. Taurus and Scorpio also can experience control issues this month. Gemini and Libra enjoy the more active social scene with friends. Aries and Sagittarius have the opportunity to interact creatively with groups or friends. Capricorn and Pisces are neutral. Cancer and Virgo adjust to more activity with groups and perhaps friends who are persistent. There is an opportunity to present a creative project and have it accepted. Partnerships are good, with your loved one still empathetic and giving. Pisces and Capricorn have an opportunity to bring a creative project into practical application. Cancer and Scorpio can lend support, with Taurus and Virgo offering practical hints. The Moon goes into Capricorn at 17:40.

Jan 21: There is an opportunity for change to the group project from the one in authority. Aquarius, Gemini and Libra have an easy day. Aries should accept an opportunity, as should Leo and Sagittarius. Cancer and Capricorn have a challenging day with the changes and a need to adjust. Scorpio and Leo could experience control issues over the change, but the change is good, go with it.

Jan 22: Busy day with group activities having tension over money or control of the group. Aquarius and Taurus are especially involved, followed by Leo, Scorpio and Taurus. Gemini and Libra can bring diplomacy to the situation. Be prepared to be busy with little time for details. Moon goes into Aquarius at 21:53.

Jan 23: busy day. Mars goes retrograde until April 13. Mars rules projects, sex, men and machines, war, fighting, fires and sometimes explosions. When Mars goes retrograde, expect glitches with your mechanical things. If the car, printer or copier malfunction, it would be mechanical. Difficulties with men usually surface now, producing arguments. If you are in a romantic relationship, the sexual part of the relationship could die down because your man is tired from working with all those machines, but this should be temporary. If you have ignored sexual difficulties they will surface now, forcing evaluation or the relationship could end. During the long Mars retrograde time your projects slow almost to a halt and time seems to stand still. Now is the time to evaluate the project’s plans, fix anything and be ready for a push forward when Mars goes direct. If you are an Aries, be careful of accidents because you are in a hurry and time is slow. If you are a Scorpio, be careful of misinterpreting others’ motives, resulting in your wanting to get even, causing unnecessary hard feelings. If you begin a new love relationship, something could be wrong with the man’s reason for being with you, and after Mars goes direct, he could be impotent or uninterested, the excitement having worn off.

Jan 23: New Moon at 02:39 in the sign of Aquarius and especially good day for Aquarius, and also for Gemini and Libra. Leo could experience resistance and could be ignored; Aries and Sagittarius have the opportunity to cooperate with Aquarius on long-range plans. Scorpio and Taurus have control issues over group activities. Cancer and Virgo need to accommodate possible changes in group plans, Capricorn and Pisces are neutral. Today is an excellent day, though, to communicate plans and details, especially for Capricorn and Virgo, followed by Taurus. Cancer and Scorpio can focus on the practical and the day will be good.

The Chinese New Year begins on the New Moon in Aquarius every year. So, Aquarius you may be considered the first sign, too, along with Aries of the Western Zodiac, and Capricorn who rules the New Year and the increase in light.

THE SIGN OF THE DRAGON
the following from
Chinese Horoscopes
(this is an excellent site for Chinese sign compatibilities)

Dragon personality The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend. A symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power, the Oriental Dragon is regarded as a divine beast - the reverse of the malicious monster that Westerners felt necessary to find and slay. In Eastern philosophy, the Dragon is said to be a deliverer of good fortune and a master of authority. Therefore, those people born in Dragon years are to be honored and respected.

Years of the Dragon
Fifth in the cycle, Dragon Years follow the Rabbit and recur every twelfth year. The Chinese New Year does not fall on a specific date, so it is essential to check the calendar to find the exact date on which each Dragon Year actually begins
1904 * 1916 * 1928 * 1940 * 1952 * 1964 * 1976 * 1988 * 2000
The key to the Dragon personality is that Dragons are the free spirits of the Zodiac. Conformation is a Dragon's curse. Rules and regulations are made for other people. Restrictions blow out the creative spark that is ready to flame into life. Dragons must be free and uninhibited. The Dragon is a beautiful creature, colorful and flamboyant. An extroverted bundle of energy, gifted and utterly irrepressible, everything Dragons do is on a grand scale - big ideas, ornate gestures, extreme ambitions. However, this behavior is natural and isn't meant for show. Because they are confident, fearless in the face of challenge, they are almost inevitably successful. Dragons usually make it to the top. However, Dragon people be aware of their natures. Too much enthusiasm can leave them tired and unfulfilled. Even though they are willing to aid when necessary, their pride can often impede them from accepting the same kind of help from others. Dragons' generous personalities give them the ability to attract friends, but they can be rather solitary people at heart. A Dragon's self-sufficiency can mean that he or she has no need for close bonds with other people.
Jan 24: Calm day except some disarray around 15:26.

Jan 25: The Moon goes into Pisces after joining with Neptune, so we may have some rain or snow. Attention changes to creativity, calm, quiet and a little escape from the frenzied activity and practical attention to detail, although the day has opportunities to bring a creative project in under budget.

Jan 26: Earlier in the day there is good communication, especially with creativity and Pisces has a good day of presenting beliefs. Later int eh day there could be tension between the vision and details. Pisces and Virgo could be irritated with each other, and it could rub off on Sagittarius and Gemini.

Jan 27: Mercury goes into Aquarius through February 13. Thought and conversation switch from practical plans to the goals of the group, group activity, and friends. Leo could experience opposition over control. Scorpio and Taurus have control situations, too, but the other wants control of the team, not the money. Gemini and Libra have an easy time communicating ideas and social events. Aries and Sagittarius have the opportunity to interact with many different people regarding group activities and communicating with friends. Cancer and Virgo adjust or accommodate what to you are abstract ideas. Capricorn and Pisces are neutral. The Moon goes into Aries at 13:28.

Jan 28: The Sun and Moon are getting along well, creating an opportunity for new ideas to be exciting and accepted. Especially favored are Aries and Aquarius. The new ideas are accepted by Aquarius, Gemini and Libra, but are resisted by Taurus and Scorpio. Ideas that are very abstract could be resisted by the person who understands now instead of tomorrow and there could be tension, especially between Aquarius and Taurus.

Jan 29: Weird day when daring, new or courageous ideas are too impulsive and unbalance the strict details of the plan.

Jan 30: The Moon goes into Taurus at 01:28, and the energy changes from being impulsive to being calm and steady. The idea that seemed to impulsive or premature yesterday may be presented again in a more realistic way and is accepted. Taurus is favored. There could be a mild challenge to the frugality of the plan, but this is resolved later. The quarter Moon happens23:09 in the signs of Taurus and Aquarius. Most of this energy will be felt tomorrow.

Quarter Moon in the signs of Taurus and Aquarius, and the people of those signs may have a crisis of ideas that could involve Scorpio and Leo. Virgo and Capricorn can bring common sense to the situation, and Gemini and Libra can diplomatically present all sides and accomplish cooperation.

Jan 31: The tension from the quarter Moon subsides as the day
progresses, with an opportunity for happy resolution and implementation of the idea or plan. A good day for Taurus, Pisces and Virgo.
