Hold on to your computer, wireless instruments, GPS and telephones.

Yesterday, January 22, there was a huge solar flare. For details and beautiful photos, click here: http://www.spacewater.com. The radiation storm is still in progress and could cause isolated reboots of computers onboard Earth-orbiting satellites and interfere with polar radio communications.

From www.foxnews.com  An immense blast of plasma spewed late Sunday night from the Sun led to the strongest radiation storm bombarding our planet since 2005, and a rare warning from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency -- and even a plan to redirect certain high-flying airplanes. NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center -- the nation’s official source of warnings about space weather and its impact on Earth -- issued a watch for a geomagnetic storm expected to hit our planet Tuesday morning after a satellite witnessed an ultraviolet flash from the massive solar eruption, according to Spaceweather.com. Today, January 23 at 1954 Eastern Time Mars goes retrograde while being bombarded by the CME.

WOW!

Astrologically, what does this all mean? The new Moon in Aquarius was this morning at 09:39 Eastern Time. This means the solar bombardment is electrically charging the already electric sign of Aquarius. Your Aquarian friends may be especially excited and erratic for the next few days, through Wednesday or Thursday. Leo could experience unexpected strong opposition or be totally ignored these few days. Taurus and Scorpio could be involved in financial control issues; try not to settle anything, because after the energy from the flare leaves, things will settle down. Gemini and Libra can most easily handle the energy, but may have unexpected happenings with social activities. Aries and Sagittarius can be charged from the frenetic activity from their friends. Cancer and Virgo have to adjust to the unexpected; try to flow with it. I would say that Capricorn and Pisces are neutral, but this is relative. The energy from the solar flares is a lot, so all life on earth is excited, each in our own way. If your pets are unusually restless or lethargic, blame it on the solar flare.
Let’s watch the earthquake activity to see of there is any extra activity stimulated from the combination of the new Moon and solar flare. Since Mars in involved, too, there could be a surge in fires or volcanic eruptions.

AND... MARS WENT RETROGRADE, TOO, today at 19:54 Eastern Time in the sign of Virgo.  As if Virgo does not have enough adjusting to do because of the solar flare, their projects slow down and they may even slow down. Read Mars retrograde here. The solar flare is flying by Mars, too, electrically exciting men, machines, cars, trains, and anything mechanical. The next few days will be interesting indeed. If you are a Virgo, be alert for mechanical breakdowns. Even though a slow Mars means the slow-down of projects, Taurus and Capricorn can benefit from careful planning and patience. Cancer and Scorpio have the opportunity to work on new projects that require patience and a slow build-up through April 13 when Mars goes Direct. Pisces may be irritated because attention to detail is required to fix mechanical things. Gemini and Sagittarius could also be irritated because of the slow-down of activity, with the requirement for detail. Leo and Libra are somewhat neutral. Aries and Aquarius need to adjust to the slowdown and possible breakdown of mechanical things. Remember that Aquarius is already stimulated by the solar flare and may be far too eager to create upheaval. They need a calming friend.

Some astrologese: if you know your chart, look to any planets in the sign of Aquarius to learn how your life will be energized. Look to the house with Aquarius on the cusp to learn the area of your life will be energized. Look to the houses with Aries on the cusp and that area of your life should slow down because of the retrograde Mars. If you really know your chart, you can figure the aspects to Mars at 23 degrees of Virgo to learn even more.
