The month begins with Mercury retrograde in the sign of Capricorn. Mercury goes direct Jan 8 at 04:42:40 am ET. When Mercury backs into Sagittarius on Jan 4, travel plans may go askew until Jan 9. The forecast for the USA and general global activity to follow.
Inauguration interpretation for the USA, Donald Trump and Barack Obama. 


Jan 1: looks good, especially for the air signs of Aquarius and Libra, followed by Aries and Sagittarius. However, it could be wet because Mars is conjunct Neptune. The other manifestation could be Pisces is more active than usual, with creative party ideas. Enjoy.

Jan 2: Moon goes into Pisces and in good relationship with the planets, indicating a quietly good day.

Jan 3: Venus goes into Pisces through Feb 4. Venus likes being in Pisces, indicating your loved one is giving and soft. Pisces are gentle, creative and loving. Virgo may experience romantic or creative relationships taking away from work. Cancer and Scorpio enjoy this time with easy and creative people. Taurus and Capricorn enjoy opportunities for creative give and take. Gemini and Sagittarius may be irritated by others asking them to be more attentive and giving. Aquarius and Aries are neutral, with Leo and Libra adjusting to needy others. Communication today should be good if you take the time and opportunity to offer practical advice to creative or dreamy ideas.

Jan 4: Mercury backs into Sagittarius, changing the glitches to travel and lack of detail. The Moon goes into Aries

Jan 5: quarter Moon in the signs of Aries and Capricorn, who challenge each other, perhaps drawing Cancer and Libra in. Leo and Sagittarius can help Aries, with Taurus and Virgo helping Capricorn. Day full of impulsive activity and change.

Jan 6: Moon goes into Taurus.

Jan 7: Capricorn is very focused, powerful and effective. Established entities put ideas forward. Cancer may experience opposition, or work demands away from family. Aries and Libra are challenged by practical things. Taurus and Virgo enjoy a day of focuses, effective work. Scorpio and Pisces have the opportunity for succesfful practical projects. Sagittarius and Aquarius are neutral. Gemini and Leo adjust to practical demands. The Moon is nice today, softening any challenges.

Jan 8: Mercury goes direct at 04:42:40 am ET in the sign of Sagittarius. Travel plans do not go as expected, but if you can be flexible, better.

Jan 9: unstable day full of emotional changes. Especially difficult for Gemini and Pisces, followed by Virgo and Sagittarius. Libra and Aquarius can help Gemini, with cancer and Scorpio helping Pisces.

Jan 10: sudden structural or practical changes. Change could be catalyzed by Capricorn, affecting Aries, then Cancer and Libra. These signs enjoy challenges. Taurus and Virgo can help Capricorn, with Leo and Sagittarius helping Aries. Moon goes into Cancer.

Jan 11: mixed, busy day. There is an opportunity for an idealistic idea or project to be accepted by the ones in charge. Especially good for Pisces and Capricorn, followed by Cancer, Scorpio, Taurus and Virgo. Challenges from the established one to the diplomat. Capricorn challenges Libra, perhaps drawing Cancer and Aries in. Be ready to accept opportunities and a busy day.

Jan 11 through Jan 17: Jupiter in Libra is in a good relationship with Saturn in Sagittarius, indicting days of opportunity for balance and diplomacy. Political situations have the opportunity for this if all parties will cooperate. Personally, Libra has the opportunity to engage in diplomacy with Sagittarius.

Jan 12: full Moon in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn, who experience emotional relationships about family and work, with Aries and Libra having challenges. Scorpio and Pisces can help Cancer, with Taurus and Virgo helping Capricorn. For those of you in medical and law enforcement, the areas of the body indicated are the stomach & breast; knees, teeth and bones.  Venus and Neptune are conjunct in Pisces, indicating a wonderful day for Pisces, but an irritating day for Virgo who chafes at vagueness. Cancer and Scorpio have a nice day, with Taurus and Capricorn enjoying opportunities for romantic escape. Aquarius and Aries are neutral, with Libra and Leo adjusting to a people not being available. Moon goes into Leo.

Jan 12: Mercury goes into Capricorn through Feb 7. Communication is practical and work or career focused. Capricorn presents practical ideas, Cancer may experience opposition to family activities, Aries and Libra are challenged to pay attention to work. Taurus and Virgo enjoy good, work-related communication; Scorpio and Pisces have opportunities to be included in practical projects; Sagittarius and Aquarius are neutral; Gemini and Leo adjust to more practical communication.

Jan 13: irritating, quincunx day when nothing goes as expeted, especially for Leo and Pisces. If you can be flexible and go with the flow, it'll be better than expected.

Jan 14: combination day of irritation and things going well. Irritating for Leo, Capricorn, Pisces, and good for Leo, Aries, Sagittarius and Libra. Moon goes into Virgo late evening.

Jan 15: fairly good-neutral except for Virgo and Pisces who do not see eye to eye. Virgo is irritated with vague or creative ideas instead of the practical or work, and Pisces escapes from what they consider the grind. Taurus and Capricorn can help Virgo, with Cancer and Scorpio helping Pisces.

Jan 16: "one of those days," when nothing goes smoothly or as expected. This is all emotional, with the one who demands details irritating everyone else. It is all small stuff, so let it go.

Jan 17: better day with practical projects going smoothly. Good day for Virgo and Capricorn, followed by Taurus, with Scorpio having the opportunity to organize.

Jan 18: Mars is in quincunx with Jupiter, indicating a shift in plans activated by ideals. Pisces, or the idealist, ask for changes that may be unrealistic., Pisces and Libra are off balance today. Cancer and Scorpio can help Pisces, with Gemini and Aquarius helping Libra.

Jan 19: Busy, emotional, day leading up to the USA Inauguration. There are challenges preparing, with Pisces and Sagittarius differing, affecting Gemini and Virgo. The plans are incomplete, too flexible and a little unrealistic. There could be disturbances that go into Jan 20, the Inauguration. The Sun goes into Aquarius and the Moon going into Scorpio, creating the quarter Moon. The fixed signs of Scorpio, Aquarius, Leo and Taurus experience control issues. Cancer and Pisces can help Scorpio, with Gemini and Libra helping Aquarius with the emotional issues.

Jan 19: Sun into Aquarius through Feb 19: Aquarius is more openly assertive and takes charge. Leo may experience relationship control issues. Taurus and Scorpio have control situations. Gemini and Libra enjoy a great social time; Aries and Sagittarius have opportunities for expansive social times. Cancer and Virgo adjust to the unexpected, which brings welcome change if they adjust. Capricorn and Pisces are neutral.

InaugurationJan 20: the challenges of yesterday may be effective; the global chaos may wane, with the opportunity for cooperation and balance with those in authority and those with responsibility. There is an opportunity for harmony and dignity, between those in power and the creative ones. Mercury is retrograde, but the USA chart has a retrograde Mercury, so this should be good.  Active day that runs smoothly, even with demonstrations. Improved relations with allies and foreign relations. Opportunity for change and a smooth transition. Jan 20: for Donald Trump: opportunity for change of responsibility; smooth transition of authority and good media coverage; big adjustment in career and residence; change in personal finances; positive change of career and opportunity for a new career. (Astrologese: Saturn in Sagittarius transiting his 4th house and sextile his Sun, quincunx MC; Jupiter in Libra transiting his 3rd house and trine his Sun; Pluto in Capricorn transiting his 5th house, quincunx Uranus; Mars in Pisces transiting his 8th house, trine Saturn and will trine his Venus; progressed Moon conjunct his Venus in Cancer, which rules his 10th and 3rd houses.)

Jan 20: for Barack Obama: he is recognized and honored, with good media coverage; transiting Saturn in Sagittarius will leave his 10th house of career on Jan 25th, signaling the end of his Presidency and a shift in responsibility.

Jan 21: Mild, good day.

Jan 22: Moon goes into Sagittarius and in good relationship with the Sun, revealing a nice day.

Jan 23: opportunity to effectively communicate, especially to coordinate the ideal with the practical. Great day for Capricorn and Pisces, followed by Taurus, Virgo, Cancer and Scorpio.

Jan 24: Moon goes into Capricorn.

Jan 25: Mildly good for Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo. Cancer may experience communication related to work or practical plans.

Jan 26: financial adjustment to balance the checkbook, so to speak. Try not to spend too much today, because purchases could be perceived differently tomorrow. Pisces is off balance with Libra, meaning Pisces could change Libra's plans, which Libra does not appreciate. Gemini can help Libra see Pisces point of view, Scorpio can help Pisces manage and Cancer can soothe emotions.

Jan 27: Moon goes into Aquarius, creating a new Moon. Time for Aquarius to present future plans. Leo experiences relationships not paying attention to them, Taurus and Scorpio have control issues. Gemini and Libra enjoy a good day; Aries and Sagittarius have opportunities for group activities; Capricorn and Pisces are neutral, with Cancer and Virgo adjusting to the unexpected.  Pisces may disappoint Sagittarius by not showing up or being too vague. Gemini and Virgo could experience a mildly irritating day.

Jan 28: Mars goes into Aries through March 10. Activity picks up, with Aries initiating, challenging Libra to go it alone, with Cancer and Capricorn catalyzed into action. Leo and Sagittarius enjoy being brought into the action; Gemini and Aquarius have opportunities for action, also. Pisces and Taurus are neutral, with Virgo and Scorpio adjusting to the impulsive activity.

Jan 29: Capricorn is communicates well thought-out plans that are received, especially by Taurus and Virgo. However, Cancer may experience verbal opposition, with Aries and Libra verbally challenged. Sagittarius and Aquarius are neutral, Gemini and Leo adjust to what they consider boring subjects, Scorpio and Pisces have an opportunity to be included.

Jan 30: mildly pleasant day, especially for Pisces and Capricorn.

Jan 31: Moon goes into Aries joining Mars, indicating a busy communicative day with new ideas. Mercury is challenging ideas, though, to be practical, so there may be spirited conversations.
