HARVEST MOON: This weekend's full Moon is the Harvest Moon, the full Moon closest to the autumnal equinox, which marks the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and spring in the South. Before electric lights, farmers working after sunset relied on the light of the Harvest Moon to help them gather ripening autumn crops. Look east for the Harvest moonrise on Saturday night. The Harvest Moon will float just above the planet Uranus in the sky and sky watchers can get a great look at the celestial show. If sky watchers wish to see Uranus
through their own telescopes Saturday night, they should scan just below
the moon and look for the only green "star" in the field of view.
INCOMING SOLAR STORM CLOUD: Magnetic fields around sunspot 1577 erupted on Sept. 28th, hurling a coronal mass ejection (CME) almost directly toward Earth. The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) recorded the cloud as it raced away from the Sun faster than 2.2 million mph: NOAA forecasters estimate a 50% chance of strong geomagnetic storms around the poles on Sept 30th when the cloud reaches Earth. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras, which might be intense enough to see in spite of the full moonlight.
The Solar storm cloud would intensify the energy of the full moon, so expect a busy Saturday night and Sunday. The Moon and Uranus will both be at 6 degrees of Aries; the Sun opposite at 6 degrees of Libra, with Pluto at 6 degrees of Capricorn. This is an explosive situation, possibly a trigger point of the Mideast crisis, which involves the United States. As you know, the full moon brings the “lunies” out, and people overreact. This full moon indicates the ones overreacting will be Aries, Libra and Capricorn, with Aries the instigator. Aries gets bored with stagnant or slow-moving situations and stirs the pot to get things moving. Libra wants to smooth things over – but only until pushed too far, which could be this full moon. Capricorn wants plans to be in order, and Capricorn’s plans are provoked out of order with this full moon. The areas of the body indicated are the head, especially the brains and upper teeth; the bladder and adrenal glands; and if Capricorn resists too mightily, the knees, bones and skin. Aries is the sign of guns, fires and explosions, Libra is the sign of beauty and diplomacy, and Capricorn is the sign of structure and plans.
Cancer can feel the vibes from all the activity and enjoy it if you wish. Taurus and Scorpio may want to withdraw but may be included in money issues. Gemini and Aquarius are good with people and can help others see all sides to the issues and manage the situation, asking Leo for their good administrative help. Virgo and Pisces may want to get away from it all, and Sagittarius goes on a symbolic trip, although Sagittarius likes to make peace.
What can you expect with this unstable planetary situation that is mirrored in world events? More explosions, fires, gunfire and revolutions. As you know, the world is experiencing drastic change as revealed by the Mideast revolutions. This weekend some situations could come to an explosive or sudden crisis. Uranus' atmosphere is dominated primarily by hydrogen and helium, with a small amount of methane that gives the "ice giant" its bluish-green tint. The planet has a ring system and 27 known moons. It's also tilted so far that it essentially orbits the sun on its side; researchers think the planet may have been knocked askew by a collision with another large body long ago. As for Uranus with its singular green color and wild axial tilt, its permanent overcast never allows us to see markings of any kind, and yet its story is nothing short of fascinating.

The attacks are at the end of three Saturn cycles, transits or processes that began between the middle of November and the middle of December of last year, 2011. They repeated from the end of March to the middle of May this year of 2012 and ended with focus dates of 8/6, 9/11 and 9/13 this year of 2012. These dates reveal the long-range planning of the attacks that were meant to be deadly. One of these Saturn cycles, though, reveals that protection was provided for many, so the death toll was not so high.
The United States is the brunt of the violence (obviously) exploding on the 11th anniversary of 9/11. For the United States, the public violence is from 9/9 and 9/13 and then it should subside from the public eye. The United States government should have been aware this should happen and should have had protection in the embassies around the world. There will be more upheaval regarding either foreign powers or the population of the United States October 14 this year.
The planets of revolution, Uranus and Pluto are in a very tense situation with each other, reflecting the agitated world situation, with the Arab revolutions and anarchy throughout the world. This is evidence that the old, out-worn, established order of things is breaking down. The extreme tension and danger is a process that began the end of June this year of 2012. The world situation is explosive again, and is especially contentious between August 20 and October 1 of this year. The most dangerous time will be September 19, when you can expect something decisive to happen. It may seem to ease off after the crisis, but it re-surfaces the end of May 2013, the beginning November of 2013; the end of April, middle of December of 2014 and finally, the middle of March 2015. It is obvious this is a long-term process with spikes of violence that demand attention.
Not only are transiting Pluto and Uranus in stress with each other in the sky, they are busy indicating drastic change in the United States. More is written about that here. The last time Pluto went through Capricorn was between 1762 and 1777, the years of the American Revolution. More is written about that here.
The planet Pluto transited, or passed into, the sign of Capricorn the end of January 2008, signaling strong upheavals in society brought about by strong political force, generally focused in business and structured entities, as revealed by the sign of Capricorn. I had not written about this transit of Pluto because I thought it signaled severe danger to the life of the President of the United States and did not want any writing to add to a dangerous situation. Hindsight reveals that one person, perhaps the president via executive order, has forced change upon the country that affects the homeland itself, the employment and financial sector, foreign relations and immigration.
The presidential elections of 2008 swept in lawmakers who quickly passed laws and a president who created executive orders that by-passed the Constitution and have changed the United States. Pluto either signals transformational change with cooperation of the populace, or transformational change at the direction of one person. Pluto is forceful, domineering and “my way or no way” in the negative. Pluto is strong, cooperative and steadfast in the positive. You can decide whether Pluto is cooperating with you or ordering you about by reading what the slew of executive orders are. A list of them is here.
Transformational or structural change in the financial sector began 9 March 2009 and lasted through 19 October 2010. The first activity was the government takeover of GM and Chrysler. This same time period reveals change in the labor unions, which benefited from the GM and Chrysler takeovers.
Between January and November of 2011, there was focus on forced changes in allied relationships, immigration and funding of services for the population, some of which was done by presidential executive order.
The Occupy Wall Street movement began 17 September 2011. The restlessness and possibly behind-the-scenes planning began in May. The strength of the movement went through end of February 2012. There are two transits that indicate the Occupy movement, one just restlessness and fun for the youth, the other an attempt to change America via anarchy and violence.
Now we come to 2012:
The end of February through first ten days of March ended the anarchy, but there will be changes as a result, and let us hope the changes are to be more free instead of change without thought of consequence.
Beginning February 20, repeated 2 June and ending 20 December this year, Pluto reveals necessary, forced adjustment in the labor force because of financial circumstances. Accommodations must be made to take into account the lack of money in the country.
Uranus has a cycle that indicates sudden breakthrough or freedom for immigrants. The first date was 19 April, will repeat 14 October, with the third date 8 February 2013. This means immigrants experience more freedom of movement. There could also be sudden change in public relations and alliances.
Jupiter joins the situation, with a cycle of freedom of the work force related to immigrants. The first date was 24 July and repeats 23 December this year and 11 March 2013. This may not be entirely peaceful, as Jupiter also indicates rebellion between 29 August and 19 November this year and again 14 April 2013.
Neptune began a fortuitous situation with young people and workers in May that is quiet now, but will begin to benefit them the end of February 2013, and finalize between 29 September and 27 December of 2013. Neptune is associated with glamor and charisma, and in the United States chart Neptune reveals glamor around the president. He certainly has had a good time with movie stars and being on TV. In a personal chart this would be an ideal love situation where both would sacrifice for the other, or a time of becoming noticed and famous. Perhaps the sacrifice of labor will benefit them through 2013, and add more people to the work force.
It looks like an attempt to balance the finances or budget the beginning of September, again 4 November, just before the elections and again April of 2013.
Exact on 5 October, an indication of the financial adjustment of the real estate market, adjustment of workers and youth, adjustment to college grants and loans. This being the realization that the Utopian prices, grants, high salaries and benefits are over and everybody is brought down to reality. Any unrealistic demands or expectations will not be granted.
The 31st of October there is a one-time calming of the work force and a stabilization of finances, which precedes balance between responsibility and freedom, and between Democrats and Republicans. This begins after the election, the first date of the balancing cycle the 24th of November of this year, and repeats 31 May and 14 August of 2013.

The United States ends the year with a combination of stability and civility and the beginning of adjusting responsibility with freedom and changes.
As the nation goes into 2013, there is an adjustment, especially for the media, of the perception of the president and the presidency.
The full, blue moon was August 1, 2012 and the magnificent solar flares are happening through September 3.
The beautiful blue full moon and solar flares are all happening with the sun in the sign of Virgo. The full moon was in the sign of Pisces/Virgo. Virgo will be stimulated with a lot of solar energy, making you more nervous and possibly having stomach upsets. Eat a light diet with small amounts of raw vegetables and you will be okay. Pisces may believe you are being criticized, but it is only irritation coming from the other, and is not personal. During the full moon both Virgo and Pisces could have acted in a more daring manner. Gemini and Sagittarius can be irritated because of requests for mundane detail.
Taurus and Capricorn are in the right place at the right time for successful work or practical endeavors. Cancer and Scorpio have opportunities to expand your field of work, please accept. Leo and Libra are somewhat neutral. Aquarius and Aries adjust to dealing with practical details.

The world entered explosive, revolutionary change the end of May 2011. This is when the planets Uranus and Jupiter simultaneously traveled into the sign of Aries and when the Libya uprising signaled the Arab revolutions. Japan experienced the earthquake and tsunami then, too. Uranus will be in the sign of Aries through the beginning of March 2019.
Uranus represents revolutions that break down old, outworn systems, replacing them with new groups and attitudes, with a new way of life. Uranus is the planet of freedom, equality and acceptance of all. The opposite of Uranus’ good qualities is dictatorship and extreme intolerance. We are seeing both happening now and it will be a few years before it is sorted out.
The planet Pluto went into the sign of Capricorn the end of November 2008. Pluto is the planet of transformation, breaking down what it touches, replacing it with a new system, and revealing what was hidden. These past situations preceded the American Revolution which created the United States of America, which was a new idea in the history of the world: equality and freedom for all. The United States of America replaced monarchies which demanded the populace pledge to the monarchs, not the country; and the monarchies each had a state religion. The United States was the first country to have freedom to worship (or not) as one pleased and not obligate the people to belong to the state religion or be persecuted for worshiping otherwise. Rome was tolerant of religion, but required the people to "adore" the emperor as a Deity or god.
The reason for bringing up the 1700's is to let you know that turmoil precedes change and there are similar situations happening now. We need to be vigilant of the dark manifestations of these situations and do what you think is right to change the dark to light.
What can you do about all of this? First of all, express tolerance and understanding of other people, religions and way of life, and of the new, which can lead to acceptance. These are exciting times, and the new ways should be a renewal of the spirit of freedom, liberty, tolerance and acceptance. The young are creating new ways of doing business which are simpler, seem like magic, and are less expensive, leading the way to even more freedom. Let us pay attention to what is good in all these changes and try to adapt. There is a saying to create Beauty, Goodness and Truth and to live by and in these qualities. Then all will be well.
Jupiter and the Moon are together in the sign of Gemini, with Venus in Cancer next door from today through August 14. The moon moves quickly, and will leave Jupiter but join Venus. Do look up and enjoy the lights.

On August 11th, a 33% crescent Moon will glide by Jupiter, temporarily forming a bright pair directly above brilliant Venus. Red-giant star Aldebaran will be there, too, adding a splash of color to the gathering: sky map. On August 12th, the narrowing 24% crescent Moon will drop down between Jupiter and Venus. Together they make a bright 3-point line in the sky, frequently bisected by shooting stars: sky map.
What does this mean to you? When a planet is in your sign, you are the person who gives, so Gemini can be the initiator of playful conversation and spontaneous social fun, and also expect loving expansion of your social life. Sagittarius can experience playful conversation with a little spice. Libra and Aquarius have a gracious and stimulating time with friends. Aries and Leo have the opportunity for fun, but you need to accept it. Capricorn and Scorpio adjust or accommodate mild changes in plans from the serious to the social. Cancer and Taurus are somewhat neutral to Jupiter and the Moon.
Venus, the love and money planet is in the sign of Cancer. When a planet is in your sign, you are the person who gives, so Cancer can be the giver of small gifts and expressions of affection. Scorpio and Pisces can expect these small gifts and expressions of affection, possibly from Cancer. Capricorn hopefully will accept affection and leave your tasks; Taurus and Vrgo have the opportunity to receive affection and small gifts if you will accept them. This is the time of Leo: summer and "dog days", when the star Sirius is overhead. Your Leo friends are proud, dramatic and fiery and need a lot of attention and praise. If they are ignored, they can be demanding and expensive. They are steadfast, loyal friends and are wonderful administrators who are good at delegating tasks. My experience has shown that Leo men need financial lessons because they seem to think money will always just flow in like the sunshine. They are prone to expensive, showy taste, spend too much money and get into debt too easily, yet they are attentive and generous.
Leo is the sign of love, and they are romantic in love and want you to accept their loving attention and gifts. If their love is spurned or ignored they can have heart problems.
Leo is one of the fire signs, along with Aries and Sagittarius who they get along with very well. This means they are creative and outgoing or are extroverts. Leo has the opportunity for good relationships with Gemini, who can communicate Leo’s ideas, and Libra, who can be the diplomat when Leo comes on too strong and initiate Leo’s ideas.
Leo is one of the manager signs, along with Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius, who they could have control issues with. The manager signs can be called control freaks when they require everything to be managed by them and won’t bend. They can have difficult relationships with Scorpio and Taurus over money, and Aquarius over who controls the group. Aquarius is Leo’s opposite and this can be a wonderful relationship with understanding.
Cancer and Virgo are astrological next-door neighbors and get along with Leo well. Cancer is one of the leader signs who can reach out with Leo's ideas, with Leo ably administering the project. Virgo is practical and detail-oriented and will take care of those for Leo.
The signs of Capricorn and Pisces are the most difficult for Leo to work with because of the astrological differences. Leo is fixed and fiery, Capricorn is earthy, careful and non-communicating. Pisces is super-flexible, sensitive and dreamy, although they admire Leo’s strength. This does not mean they don’t get along, it only means it takes a little effort on both signs to do so.
Leo can hang on too long to situations, things and people because of pride. They need to learn when the situation is complete, the object is no longer useful and a friend is gone and just let go. Letting go need not be a blow to pride.

Since the solar wind is already heading to earth, let’s be careful of being off balance because of the radiation, especially those of you who live very far north, such as Alaska, Russiak the UK and northern Europe. The article about the solar flare of July 12 stated there was strong UV radiation, and we should expect that now. If you sunburn easily, please cover up because the UV is what burns.
Here on the East Coast of the United States experienced extreme heat during the last solar flare. Today (July 24) the weather is most pleasant, but I wonder what the temperature will be in a few days. We’ll find out. The London Olympics open Friday, July 27, just before the solar flare. Maybe their weather will be hot and they can see the auroras that will be spawned as a result of the flare. It will be interesting to see if there is any difference in performances of the athletes.
The solar flare is exciting the Leo part of the zodiac, joining retrograde Mercury. If you are a Leo, have a Leo Moon or Leo rising, be alert for an extra push of energy (radiation). You could be more focused and commanding than usual, or you could be more tired than usual. Either way, try to realize it is the solar flare and ease up on yourself. If you are an Aquarius, others may want control and expect to be obeyed. Scorpio and Taurus could experience tense financial situations. Cancer and Virgo are relatively neutral. Aries and Sagittarius will enjoy the extra energy; Gemini and Libra have the opportunity to be the diplomatic and peace-makers in tense situations. Capricorn and Pisces may be the ones thrown most off balance because the energies are very strong and commanding.
If you know your chart, look to where Leo rules, which is the area around the sign of Leo on the cusp of a house. For instance, if you have the sign of Leo on the line between any two areas of your chart, that area will be bombarded by this solar flare. Expect extra activity in that area of your life.
Mercury is still retrograde, which disturbs communications, and the solar flare disturbs communications. So, if your equipment glitches, or internet and other communication glitches, blame it on the combination of these. After Mercury goes direct August 8 double-check your communications and documents.

For several days this month, Greenland's surface ice cover melted over a larger area than at any time in more than 30 years of satellite observations. Nearly the entire ice cover of Greenland experienced some degree of melting, according to measurements from three independent satellites. Extent of surface melt over Greenland’s ice sheet on July 8 (left in the pictue) and July 12 (right in the picture). Measurements from three satellites showed that on July 8, about 40 percent of the ice sheet had undergone thawing at or near the surface. In just a few days, the melting had dramatically accelerated and an estimated 97 percent of the ice sheet surface had thawed by July 12. Do you think the Greenland ice melt could have anything to do with the massive solar flare, or CME, that left Sun on July 12 and bombarded the earth on July 14? It is interesting that NASA surmised we would feel the force of the solar flare on July 14, yet the Greenland ice sheet showed almost complete thawing on July 12, the very day the solar flare left the sun. The full article stated that the earth (and of course space) was full of high UV radiation on July 12.
The planet Mercury goes retrograde July 14 and goes direct August 8.
Mercury rules communications such as the phone, internet, newspapers, and written papers, especially legal papers. When it goes retrograde it is not a good time to sign papers or make agreements. The legal part of marriage is ruled by Mercury, so when it is retrograde it is possible the legal paperwork is not right. I went to a wedding that was held under a retrograde Mercury, and when the paperwork was signed, the time of the wedding was wrong on the paper. Everybody let it go. If you must sign legal papers as part of your job, make sure you re-check them after Mercury goes direct to correct any mistakes.
Mercury rules electricity and electronic gadgets such as your computer, IPad and cell phone, so during the retrograde period these gadgets can malfunction and be quite irritating. If your car, printer or copier glitches, check the electronics first, it is most likely something simple but electrical. It is not wise to purchase anything electrical during this time because something hidden is wrong and will surface when Mercury goes retrograde the next time. Experiences under a retrograde Mercury tend to repeat during another cycle. Mercury retrograde time is not all difficult: check to some of the previous Mercury retrograde times to see what good happened, knowing this could ll repeat. What you purchase under a retrograde Mercury could be nice now, but during the next cycle it could malfunction. This happened to me years ago when I purchased what I thought was a beautiful retro telephone under a retrograde Mercury. Lo and behold, during the next retrograde Mercury time, it stopped working.
The next Mercury retrograde time will be between November 6 and November 26, 2012. The previous retrograde Mercury time was between March 12 and April 4, 2012.
During this Mercury retrograde time, it is in the sign of Leo. This means Leo people could have the most irritating experiences. Be careful of exaggerating your abilities, being too controlling and be very careful purchasing expensive, showy items because they could be disappointing later. Aquarius could experience resistance to group plans because the one in authority wants the attention. Aries and Sagittarius may seem to have an easy communication time, but be sure to double-check communication from authority after Mercury goes direct on August 8. Cancer should be neutral. Taurus and Scorpio could experience control issues because the authoritarian could be too bossy, too right and have exaggerated. Libra has the opportunity to diplomatically point out any discrepancies. Capricorn and Pisces adjust to mistakes they may see that others don’t. Virgo’s patron planet is Mercury, so you can expect irritating delays or errors with details. Gemini’s patron planet is Mercury, too, so pay extra attention to the detail you don’t enjoy. You do have the opportunity to help others see mistakes, and in your conciliatory way, bring them to attention.
