The talk of the earth system right now is the so-called mini-Moon. Starting today, September 29, a 33-foot (10 meters) wide asteroid will temporarily begin orbiting Earth. Earth’s gravity will capture this mini-moon until November 25, when the sun will once again pull it away and back into a sun-centered - or heliocentric - orbit. Read more about 2024 PT5, Earth's new, temporary mini-moon. Yes, it is very small, but combined with the Moon may increase the Moon’s influence a tiny bit. If you live where you can watch the tides, it may be interesting. We’ll mention this with the Moon’s phases this week. This link takes you to earthsky.org where you can see the Moon and asteroid animated in orbit. You will then be able to see how fast the Moon travels around the earth, too.
October 2: we have the companion new-Moon eclipse to the September full-Moon eclipse. Will it be emphasized by the mini-Moon? Let’s watch our emotions and how impulsive we may be. Impulsive because it is at 10 degrees of Libra, Libra being one of the impulsive, leadership signs. This means if you have a 9, 10, or 11-degree planet in your chart, it will be activated. More on Oct. 2.
The world continues the last gasps of reconstruction and the financial situations, although they may cooperate to bring these about in a calm, orderly way. The world is also experiencing the inflation or exaggeration of news, communication and AI. Jupiter is symbolically pushing the AI subject too fast. We rushed into producing electric cars without having enough charging stations, and now we are realizing their batteries catch fire! I, for one person, will go slowly with both AI and an electric car.
- Sept 29: Moon goes into Virgo, focusing on practical, sequential detail. Activities may focus on the harvest, especially herbs. If the mini-Moon does anything, it will add more detail, irritating Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces, and helping Taurus and Capricorn. Cancer and Scorpio may be invited to help with a harvest or cooking. Leo and Libra are neutral, with Aries and Aquarius adjusting to detailed, sequential conversation topics.
- Sept 30: Focused diplomatic negotiations, sincerely hoping to come to a resolution, drawing on past successful partnerships to accomplish it. A leader – USA – works well with a stable country behind the scenes to make this happen. For you, Libra leads a cooperative situation, perhaps challenging Aries, Cancer and Capricorn. Cancer and Pisces work together to quietly accomplish a creative project or situation. A nice day for most. Remember that Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn enjoy tests, so today will present a nice test to win.
- Oct 1: Moon goes into Libra, joining the South Node, Mercury and the Sun. with the mini-Moon accomplice, cooperation and partnership may be a little enhanced. However they are opposite the North Node and Chiron, revealing some tension because Chiron lacks the self-confidence the North Node in Aries needs to go forward, meaning there could be hesitation to go forward when going forward is what is needed. We have Cancer and Capricorn, though, helping Libra, so today could be nicely busy with new ideas and activities. Scorpio manages the activity well.
- Oct 2: the new-Moon eclipse at 10 degrees Libra and Aries, joining the South Node and Mercury in the sky, and setting off the signs of Libra, Aries, Cancer and Capricorn and any planets you have at 10 degrees. If the mini-Moon has any affect, it would be extra energy and impulsiveness. New moons are times for new beginnings, and especially for Libra, a good time for new partnership and social activities. The eclipse is harmonious for Gemini and Aquarius and brings a chance for Leo and Sagittarius to enjoy social and alliance activities. It is neutral for Virgo and Scorpio.

- Oct 3: yesterday’s activities come over to today, although quiet.
- Oct 4: the news changes throughout the day, adjusting to what is happening. Your loved one is warm and sexy, or focused on investments. Libra and Pisces do not communicate well, continually re-adjusting what they are trying to say. Scorpio and Pisces, though, do communicate well, along with Cancer, who can all help bring understanding. Moon and mini-Moon go into Scorpio, joining Venus in Scorpio, thereby intensifying Scorpio’s ardor and financial focus.
- Oct 5: Late in the day communication or news turns argumentative and goes into tomorrow.
- Oct 6: Weird day. Cooperation or diplomacy runs into vague and changeable terms, with the supposedly stable entity oddly vague or missing. the diplomat finally challenges the hostile one. China verbally challenges the USA. Libra and Pisces continue to have communication problems. It seems Pisces expects everything to stay the same even though they may have disappeared, and Libra – or someone – has moved on. Moon and mini-Moon go into Sagittarius, changing focus to travel, international diplomacy and cultures, higher education, church and spirituality.
- Oct 7: the next few days the Moon and mini-Moon in Sagittarius will be opposite Jupiter in Gemini, indicating inflation or exaggeration of communication news and entities. Bragging is just that, bragging without anything substantial behind it.
USA: This week the USA has a nice progression that indicates an opportunity for the transformation of the nation’s values towards more creative compassion, between October 4 and October 7, with an aura all week. October 6 may see China challenge the USA.
Between September 26 and October 23 there is an acceleration of diplomatic and trade negotiations. The president hosted four presidents at his home in Delaware and at Archmere School this past week. The Stars that do the talking indicate these efforts will continue through October 23, although the other presidents have returned to their countries.
